The Stylist Level System at Lavish Salon offers our clients options when it comes to salon services as well as providing a career path for growth and achievement for our team members. Clients may choose the stylist/level that best compliments their requests and needs from skill-set/experience, to budget.
In short, levels are based on what we like to call: “R.E.D.”, which stands for REPUTATION, EDUCATION & DEMAND. As our stylists grow in each area, they earn the opportunity to be promoted to more advanced levels.

LEVEL 4-4AA
Master Stylists are just that: true masters of their craft. This title represents an established, well-respected artist with many years, if not decades, of experience behind the chair. With years of advanced education under their belt, master stylist’s time is in high-demand. This team also supports our up and coming artists so that they can better service our guests under experienced mentorship and guidance.

LEVEL 3-4
Senior Stylists have several years of experience behind the chair and continue to hone their craft through top tier education. They are well equipped to handle the many intricacies of customized cutting and coloring services. They are also skilled in advanced services, such as extensive color projects and color corrections. At this stage, Senior Stylists begin to take part in mentoring Apprentices & Level 1 Stylists.

LEVEL 1-2
Emerging stylists are confident in foundational cutting, styling and coloring services. For more advanced services, this developing team often collaborates
with our Senior/Master Stylists so that they can better service our guests under experienced guidance. Level 2 Stylists have a minimum of 1 year of experience, and are continuously learning to sharpen their skills and evolve in their craft. Booking your service with a Level 2 Stylist is a great option for those who seek a high-quality service at a more cost-effective price point.

Apprentice stylists are licensed beauty professionals who have completed a minimum of 1,000 hours in Cosmetology school, and are now working through our in-house associate program. They assist our Senior and Master Stylists throughout the day, and receive hands-on training with live models once a week, under the guidance of our Senior/Master stylists. Upon completing the associate program, our associates are ready to service guests as a Level 1 emerging Stylist.
SHELLENE | MASTER + EDUCATOR
Shellene has over twelve years of business experience in salon ownership and twenty years in hairstyling. As an owner of Lavish she makes sure to provide career growth coaching and mentoring to the team. As a stylist she enjoys using her knowledge to create exactly what her clients envision when they sit down in her chair.

I love most art related things, but I mainly draw and watercolor paint. It’s therapeutic and a great way to wind down at the end of my day. This helps me reconnect with my inner self when I'm feeling disconnected.

The beach. All of the beaches in California are stunning, but, by far, my favorite is Laguna Beach - especially experiencing the sunsets.
